Marta Bellingreri is an independent researcher and journalist specialized in Middle East and North Africa contemporary politics and cultures, holding an international PhD in Cultural Studies with a thesis on contemporary women’s arts and cultural practices in the capital of Jordan, Amman. She has lived and worked in many Middle East countries, such as Tunisia, Jordan, Iraq, Syria. Her work has appeared in many Italian and international media outlets. The author of two books “Lampedusa. Conversazioni su isole, politiche e migranti” (Edizioni Gruppo Abele, 2013) about Lampedusa with Giusi Nicolini, and “Il sole splende tutto l’anno a Zarzis” (Navarra Editore, 2014) about minor migrants in Tunisia, France and Italy. She was also involved in the production of the movies “On the Bride’s Side”, “Shores”, “Isola”. Marta is a co-founder member of the association ‘diARiA’ in her hometown Palermo, Sicily.
