BLITZ, in dialogo con l’antropologa Giorgia Mirto e il musicista Angelo Sicurella, ha scelto di cominciare ad indagare il tema delle “perdite ambigue”, riferendosi a quei lutti che rimangono bloccati nella loro elaborazione, quando il corpo della persona scomparsa non è più ritrovato.
E’ il caso dei desaparecidos sud-americani, o delle persone partite per raggiungere l’Europa, mai arrivate a destinazione. Dalle perdite nel mar mediterraneo parte questo lavoro, che mette al centro la questione del dolore collettivo per la scomparsa di queste persone, di cui spesso è difficile rintracciare le identità o recuperare i corpi, impedendo che vengano sepolti e pianti.

Migrant Cemeteries is BLITZ’s sound proposal for Walking with Grief.
BLITZ, in dialogue with anthropologist Giorgia Mirto and musician Angelo Sicurella, has chosen to begin investigating the theme of ‘ambiguous losses’, referring to mourning that cannot be resolved, when the body of the person lost has not been found.
This is the case of the South American desaparecidos, or people who left to reach Europe, were lost at sea and never arrived. This work begins from the losses in the Mediterranean Sea. It focuses on the question of collective grief for the disappearance of these people, whose identities are often difficult to trace or whose bodies are difficult to recover, leaving them unburied and unmourned.
All Walking with Grief audios were created as a part of the Dancing on the Edge Festival Year of Listening.
