Transmission details: This is an experiment of connections through frequencies Tarkib and Radio Commons have put in place. Tarkib is a Baghdad-based independent art collective. As a new phase of Radio Commons platform, we have embarked into a creative process of deep listening, displacing our thoughts and bodies, searching for proximity and distance between each of our practices. So it has emerged in the interactions between Marta Bellingreri and Tarkib, during the days of the Tarkib Collective’s Contemporary Art Festival in Baghdad- 18-21 November 2021 -and after.
This set of unedited recordings comes from this exchange of sounds: the different places we inhabit, and listening to them, resonates well with our different islands in the archipelago.
How could it be to listen to the sounds of Baghdad in Palermo?
How could it be to listen to them collectively or intimately?
How do cities perform themselves through us in other cities, as we move and displace ourselves?
